First Baptist Church has many different opportunities for service in the area of music for all ages. Music and missions allows 3-year-olds through Kindergartners to learn how God uses music in the church and people to help him. There are two Children’s Choirs for grades 1 -6 that are open to children from all over the community. In addition, 4 - 6 graders can participate in ringing handchimes through the Radical Ringers group. Youth, grades 7 - 12, have a choir as well. All adults, as well as interested High School students, can participate in the Sanctuary Choir, the main choir for the Sunday Morning Worship Services. There is also an audition handbell group, the Joyful Ringers, that gives adults and young people the opportunity to participate in a challenging and rewarding ensemble.

In addition to these ongoing groups that meet regularly, there are opportunities for praise band musicians (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocalists) and wind instrumentalists to share their talent with the church.

Every spring the Music and Drama ministries present an Easter musical. This musical is open to the community and in recent years has been presented on the Friday and Saturday evenings immediately prior to Easter morning.

Several directives guide the Music Ministry: All material and events should be Christ centered, Bible based, and encourage spiritual as well as musical growth. Any Christian with music talent and interest should be able to use the gifts God has given them to bring Him glory and honor.
